A Plea for Help: "Help Me, Pops"

A black-and-white text image recounts the tragic story of playwright Charles MacArthur and actress Helen Hayes' daughter Mary, who died after saying 'Help me, Pops' while hospitalized with polio. The text continues to describe how MacArthur inscribed her tombstone with 'Here beneath this stone doth lie / As much beauty as could die.' The source is cited as Ben Hecht's 1957 book.
